         PITCH, HIT & RUN COMPETITION
Aquafina's Pitch Hit And Run provides youngsters across the country the opportunity to participate in the official baseball skills competition of Major League Baseball.  Pitch, Hit & Run is intended to encourage youth participation and emphasize the fun element of baseball. There is no registration fee, participation is free. Boys and girls compete together in four different age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 A birth certificate is required to participate. Age Determination Date is July 31, 2010.

Pitch, Hit & Run is designed to test three of the most fundamental aspects of baseball: batting, fielding/throwing and base-running. All of the skills are individually scored and each participant will accumulate a total score based on his or her combined performance.

There are four levels of competition that exist for the Pitch, Hit & Run Challenge: Locals, Sectionals, Team Championships and the National Finals. 
The top competitors will compete in the PHR National Finals, which will take place at the 2010 All-Star Game at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA

Coconut Creek’s Will host two separate Local Competition's at Sabal Pines Park,
5005 NW 39th Avenue, Coconut Creek on the following dates.

What is Pitch, Hit & Run?

Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) is an exciting baseball/softball skills competition that provides boys and girls, ages 7 to 14, the opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities.

New in 2010Beginning this year there is a new nationwide girls softball division! Boys and girls in all 50 states and beyond will now have the opportunity to compete. Competitions can host boys and girls on the same date and time, but boy and girl winners in each age group will be awarded separately.

 

PHR participants can advance through four levels of competition, including Local and Sectional competitions, Team Championship events at all 30 Major League ballparks, and the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game.


2009 National finalists were honored during the State Farm Home Run Derby.

Four levels of competition - Local, Sectional, Team Championship and National Finals

  • Local: Hosted one day in March, April or early May
  • Sectional: All Local winners advance to a Sectional in their area
  • Team Championship: The top scorers are eligible to compete in a Major League Stadium in June
  • National Finals: The top scores nationwide earn an all-expense paid trip to the MLB All-Star Game to compete in the National Finals competition

All participants must begin by competing in a Local competition, which can be hosted by any organization, league, civic group or set of volunteers in the community. PHR is free of charge to both the participants and the local hosting organization.

PHR is a 1-day event that is easy to administrate and can often be completed in only a few hours. The competition can be hosted on a baseball/softball diamond or any open field. Registered hosts will receive an administrative kit with a handbook, promotional posters, registration forms, strike zone banner, award ribbons, participation baseball cards for all participants and more information required to host the event.

Creek Little Leaguer Wins State Honors.


Congratulations to Coconut Creek Little Leagues Michael McKenna who took 1st Place honors in the 2008 Pitch, Hit & Run 11-12 year old State Competition at Dolphin Stadium.  Michael is waiting to see if is combined score is in the Top four nationally, if so Michael will travel to New York City where he will compete in the National Finals during Major League Baseball's All-Star festivities at Yankee Stadium.  Congratulations Michael! Coconut Creek Little League Wishes you all the best and hopes to see you in New York.

 

 

 

Creek Little Leaguers Places Third and Second in PHR

8 year old Dominic Dingus (middle) placed third in the Team Championships at the 2009 PHR for the 9 year old division. Dominic was just shy of making it to the State Competition. Dalton Jugovic (top right) placed second in the team Championships. Congrats to Dalton and Dominic for their attention to detail and hard work!
